Isolation: Built on Fear 2 is author Shandy L. Kurth's follow up to Devastation. With Devastation I felt as if I were in the book as I read it. I could feel the fear, pain, loss and triumphs. Isolation was a good book and let us readers know what happens next, but I didn't feel myself in the book this time around. This doesn't mean that book wasn't good because I really enjoyed it. We get to read about all the characters we followed in Devastation, but I feel as if we were reading just about their each own story and were not connected. I also felt a tad bit lost while reading it because I feel as if Shandy doesn't give us a timeline of the events in this story. All in all Shandy has created a great story line and a cast of characters that are hero's in their own ways.Bottom line though is that this was a great book and really leaves you waiting for the third book!

Isolation picks up where Devastation leaves off. As with Devastation, I stayed engaged all the way to the end while reading this book. Shandy has a way of placing her readers right in the middle of the storyline.
Isolation chronicles the journey of five teens who have finally made it to safe zone. There are plot twists, compassionate scenes, and a great element of originality, for which Shandy has already established herself. Ms. Kurth, I am looking forward for what you have in store next.
